I moved back from L.A. to the 414
and tried to make it hollywood in the third ward
i went & found the biggest party i could uber toward
i’m in Milwaukee but the Dj Mr New York

at Site 1A, 720 and more
i lived life like a long Miller Brewery tour
i’d drink at this bar then go see that show
until i’m floating down water like a tug boat

the headliner at the Cooperage, was GGOOLLDD
i had a Lime electric scooter so i just rolled
she was looking for a suitor, i fit the mold
we hit the Kimpton rooftop, & she was sold

i used to go explore Milwaukee
til the world shut down and my life got boring
a lotta places lost their business
i’m sitting curbside, reminiscing

back when Snack Boys was the Hotel Foster
and evan Christiansen still ran Gibraltar
i was a vocal fan of the local bands
like NO/NO and Soul Low ‘til they broke up

and i sang back up for Astral/Subastral
chased these drugs like a federal task force
and now i wanna take my mask off
and be all at these local shows like Piety Levy’s laptop

i wanna see long lines and know just what it means
that the college kids love it as RWB’s
and Jo Kat’s, you know that normal’s back
when there’s Juneau Ave cops on horseback

i wanna see Lil Chicken at the Smallest Bar
or Plaid Hawaii kill it at the Miramar
go Cactus Clubbing, see the singer Luxi
while high off 2 gummies

i’ll grab a bite at elsa’s just to help with the munchies
i make a wish at Bad Genie girls love me
i want that Quarters punk, that Ms Lotus Fankh/funk
i want my average night full of crazy stuff

like i was by the Harp, this girl was on the bridge
they said “i double-dare you” then she jumped in the river
when she climbed out, they poured her Jim Beam
it was a miracle by Holy Trinity she breathing

but that’s just how my city does it
